JUNE 6, 2017– The Georgia School Boards Association will hold the Summer Conference and Delegate Assembly in Savannah, June 9-10. Approximately 600 local board members and superintendents will be in attendance for this year’s Pre Conference Workshops and the Summer Conference and Delegate Assembly.
This year’s conference keynote speakers includes Mr. Glenn Singleton of the Pacific Education Group, State School Superintendent Mr. Richard Woods, GSBA Executive Director Mrs. Valarie Wilson and Mr. Alberto Carvahlo, Superintendent, Miami-Dade County, Florida.
The Pre-Conference meetings will consist of state approved training sessions and new board member orientation. The Summer Conference highlights the General Sessions to discuss the most recent developments in education policy, law and best practices. Attendees will also have the opportunity to review educational products and services in the exhibit hall.
The Delegate Assembly is the annual business meeting of GSBA. It is made up of representatives from the membership and will meet to discuss and approve legislative policy and positions of the Association, and vote on new officers.
