GSBA Membership Elects New District Directors

August 18, 2020- On Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday, July 29, board members elected new Board of Directors for GSBA. On, Tuesday, August 11, a run-off was held for GSBA District 5.

GSBA Board of Directors are elected for three-year terms. The Board of Directors is composed of the president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer, immediate past president, and a Director from each of the 14 GSBA districts. The Board is empowered to manage the affairs and transact the business of the Association and employ the executive director.

New National School Boards Association (NSBA) Representatives

Two of the GSBA’s Board of Directors were elected as representatives for two different committees at the National School Boards Association. Shakila Henderson-Baker, GSBA Vice President and Chair of the Newton County Board of Education, was recently elected to the NSBA Nominating Committee as the Southern Region Representative. Bryan Preston, GSBA President-Elect and a member of the Coffee County Board of Education, was recently elected to the NSBA Policies and Resolutions Committee as the Southern Region Representative.
