GSBA Elects New Officers for the 2020-2021 Year

JUNE 9, 2020–The 2020 Summer Conference and Delegate Assembly that was to be held June 5-6 was canceled due to COVID-19. GSBA held a virtual, abbreviated version of the Delegate Assembly to elect officers for the Board of Directors as required by the bylaws. Legislative positions were not on the agenda and will be considered at a later date along with District Director elections.

On Friday, June 5, representatives from 105 school boards in Georgia met to elect GSBA’s 2020-2021 officers.

Ms. Patricia Hugley Green, Chair of the Muscogee County School Board was installed as president. Mr. Bryan Preston, of the Coffee County School Board was installed as president elect. Ms. Shakila Henderson-Baker, of the Newton County School Board was installed as vice president. Mr. Ron Hopkins, Chair of the Jefferson City School Board, begins his final year of a three-year term as Treasurer.

These officers have been installed and will take office July 1, 2020.
