CCSD Launches Inaugural Parent Academy Program
The Cherokee County School District this week launched its inaugural parent academy program.
Developed by the Georgia School Boards Association, VILLA (Volunteer Instructional Leadership Learning Academy) offers parents the opportunity to learn more about the public schools in their community. On Tuesday, Oct. 9, CCSD became the first school district in the state to pilot the program and will be featured in a GSBA video to promote VILLA.

GSBA Student Video Contest
The Georgia School Boards Association in partnership with the Georgia Vision Project's Spark campaign are sponsoring a student video contest for member districts, high school students all over Georgia.
Winners will be recognized at the /GSSA Annual Conference in Atlanta, December 1, 2017. First place prize is $1000, second place is $500 and third place is $250.
Entry deadline is October 17th.
