Marianne Smith has served on the Bryan County Board of Education since 2013. Prior to serving on the school board, she served on the school council in her district for 3 years. She has been a registered nurse for 28 years. She and her husband, John, have 3 daughters who have all attended public schools in Bryan County. Marianne’s oldest daughter attends Georgia Southern University and is pursuing a degree in elementary education. Her middle daughter recently graduated from high school and will continue her education at the University of Georgia. Her youngest daughter is currently in elementary school.
Having served for over 10 years as a Bryan County School board member, Marianne has seen how highly effective school board governance can positively impact a school system. She is excited to work more closely with her District One board members.
