Dr. Michael Kirkland has served on the Seminole County Board of Education since 2015. He grew up in Decatur County and earned a B.A. in History from the University of Georgia, an M.A. in History from Valdosta State University, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University. He has served in various roles at Bainbridge State College and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, including Professor of History and Humanities, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Arts and Sciences, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Enrollment Management. He is also a member of the Bainbridge Rotary Club. His wife, Katina, just completed her 25th year at Seminole County Elementary School. They and their three children, Gracen, Landon, and Anna Kate, proudly wear Green and White!
