Amy Dees

District 6 Director

Amy Dees was appointed to serve as GSBA District 6 Director to complete a one-year unexpired term in 2019. She serves on the GSBA Governmental Operations Committee and is a member of the NSBA Advocacy Institute (FRN). Dees has served as Legislative Liaison and is the Delegate for the Coweta Board. She has served on the Coweta County school board since January 2010, and is the current Chair.

Dees is a life-long advocate for public school students. Passionate about equality for all in education and seeking continuous improvement. She is a published novelist with a desire to share positive stories both historical fiction and non-fiction with eager readers. She is happily married to the love of her life for over 25 years. She and her husband are both products of public schools and proudly raised their four children in the Coweta County Public School System. She is the proud mother of a public educator. Her oldest daughter teaches high school at Manchester High in Meriwether County.

Dees loves to talk, chat, lecture, speak, utter or spiel about anything concerning writing and reading, especially for children. She considers herself a ‘literary time traveler’ as her passion is historical fiction.
