The mission of the Georgia School Boards Association is to ensure excellence in the governance of local school systems by providing leadership, advocacy and services, and by representing the collective resolve of Georgia’s elected boards of education.

Georgia Vision for Public Education

Our vision is equitable and excellent public education for all children.

The Georgia Vision for Public Education organizes the resources and energies of Georgia’s stakeholders to effectively focus on preparing students to become contributing members of a democratic society and global economy. By setting world-class educational standards, establishing viable directives, creating a sustainable framework and organizing contemporary networks at the local, county and regional levels, the project endeavors to gain the enthusiastic support of Federal, State and local policymakers and the citizens of Georgia.

In 2009, the Georgia School Boards Association and the Georgia School Superintendents Association formed a joint venture to create a comprehensive and coherent vision for public education in the state of Georgia. The Georgia Vision for Public Education website has more information, resources and materials.
